At 9:30 PM on September 19th, two
climbers reported to the camp host that
a fire was burning at the base of Rope-
De-Dope. Park rangers quickly contained
the fire averting a possible disaster.

A careless smoker is believed to be the
cause of the blaze. Park officials ask that
people confine their smoking to paved areas
in the Park while the weather remains dry.
