Bivy area trail before construction.

PROJECTS CANYON ACCESS TRAIL/ROAD REPAIRS: There will be limited closures for about 3 weeks over a 6 week period due to heavy equipment working on the trail/road. The project will improve drainage, safety, and ease of access to the canyon.

Access to the canyon during construction will be via: A Temporary Trail - a steep, rough trail that begins at the picnic shelter. The Rope-De-Dope Trail - a gradual trail that starts at the campground/bivy. The Homestead Trail - a rocky trail that heads out from the northern parking lot.

BIVOUAC AREA PATHWAYS: Limited closures of sections of the bivy for a total of 2 weeks over a 4 week period. Heavy equipment will be working on the pathways. The project will establish designated pathways and over time will rehabilitate the tent area.
