A 5-mile horseback ride from the Skull Hollow trailhead is the start of the Cole Trail Loop.

Skull Hollow Campground off of Lone Pine Road is about an 8-mile drive from Smith Rock State Park. The trail rises steadily upward to a flatter Gray Butte Trail.

A 2.5 mile ride on the Gray Butte Trail will take you to the park boundary at the Burma Road Trail.

From there you can ride down the Burma Road for just over a mile until it connects to the Wolf Tree Trail.
